Berowra Water's Best Kept Secret
When the only way to get to your accommodation is by boat transfer, you know you are on to a good thing. Helps though, if you are on the right side of the river. Oops. Thankfully our boat captain, Patrick has a sense of humor and is flexible. He shoots across the river, and all packed we are off to the Berowra Waters Glasshouse.
So when your elder sister turns 40 and has four children at home that she has never had a night away from in ten years, what else is there to do but take her away on a sisters only, child free long weekend to celebrate at a quiet, water front property, with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and floor to ceiling glass windows? Bonus is its only an hour from home.
From meeting Patrick, then the tour through our home for the next two nights and a lesson on how to drive the 4.2m Seahawk boat, we were never disappointed. Kayaks are provided and there are secluded mangroves just around the corner to paddle around, a steep incline bush walk behind the house leads you to an old ruin tea-house and the best view of the sunset, sunrises are worth getting up for at it rises over the water, and you’re welcome to take the boat out for a spin and a cruise along Berowra Waters. A wood fire and heating keeps the place warm and cosy in Winter. All finishes and furnishing is of top quality which really gives the feeling of an extravagance; like your living a luxury lifestyle. In summer I can imagine; stand up paddle boarding, swimming, fishing and sunbathing. This place has incredible potential. Two nights, three days was just scratching the surface. If you can afford it time and money wise at least four nights would really put you in relax mode with time for adventure and adrenaline.
Berowra Waters Glasshouse is a deluxe breathtaking holiday rental via Stayz or Airbnb. Definitely an experience, one should experience. Floor to ceiling glass windows and endless views of the river, the tall mountains opposite and the seaplane that comes in several times a day of a weekend is a sure way to treat yourself. Spending time with my sisters is always special and treasured; especially when there are no children to interrupt our conversations, and this weekend away on Berowra Waters was definitely worth it.
