Railay Beach, Krabi, Thailand

There are many gorgeous places to stay in Thailand but one of my best finds or I should say recommendations, from my African tent buddy, was Railay Beach, just out from Krabi. It is such a beautiful place to stay. You only need a couple of days but it is worth your time to visit.

So why go to Railay Beach?

• It is a great base for day trips - and the boats leave at a decent hour as well - not super early so if you can comfortably sleep in

• Incredible sunrise near the pier - one of the best I have seen in the world

• Easy to get to and from - get the plane from Bangkok to Krabi. Get a taxi from airport to Ao Nammao Pier - get the boat to Railay Beach East

• Stay at Railay Princess Resort and Spa which is right at the end of the pier. The first hotel you come to. the only ATM is just near

What is there to do there?

• cooking classes

• get a massage or two

• swimming at the beach

• sunbathe

• snorkel

• relax

• take a hike

• get up for sunrise

• go for sunset

• take a day trip to Phi Phi Islands - get snorkel gear, lunch, fruits and a bottle of water

• take a day trip to Hong Island - get picked up from Ao Nang Beach

• do a day trip to 4 Islands with Orchid Speed Boat
