True Self Profile - Cassie

This month we are featuring the talented and amazing, Cassie Mendoza-Jones.

I first met Cassie early last year, pre-pandemic, when I took her Love What You Create Book Writing Course. She helped me believe that writing a book is possible and we begun to map out the book within me. I can’t wait to finish it and get it out in the world.

Cassie has also recently released her podcast Balance with Cass & Kate. An inspirational listen for women who are ready to connect with their bodies, higher self and intuition to empower and heal themselves through energetic balancing and inner alignment. You can find out more about Cassie and what she can offer you on her gorgeous website at www.cassiemendozajones.com You can also find Cassie on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. Introducing Cassie…

I’m Cassie Mendoza-Jones. I’m the bestselling author of You Are Enough and It’s All Good, and Aligned and Unstoppable (Hay House), kinesiologist, business alignment coach, NLP practitioner, naturopath and speaker. I’ve been running my business for over a decade, working with women to help them change their beliefs about what’s possible for themselves, and create more of what they really want. I live in Sydney with my two year old daughter, Asher, my hubby, Nic, and we have a little boy on the way in a few weeks.

1.      What inspires you in your everyday life?

l receive a lot of inspiration from my work, and the simple moments of every day. I also find inspiration in the spaces in between; in rest, and in reflection, and especially in nature.

2.      Tell us your favourite; stress release practice, the thing you are most grateful for, book

My favourite stress release practice is yoga, although I don’t get to many classes in this season of my life (31 weeks pregnant, with a two year old!) so I try do some yoga on YouTube when I can, otherwise I love relaxing on the couch or my bed with a good book and tea.

I am most grateful for my daughter, husband, and family, and being able to live in a safe, loving home.

I read a lot, so I have lots of favourite books and authors. For writing and creativity, my favourite read is Die Empty by Todd Henry. I love to read fiction before bed, to turn my mind off. Some of my favourite authors are Sally Hepworth, Kristin Hannah and Jane Harper.

3.      What has been a life-defining moment for you?

Having my daughter. She was born in the water and it was such a positive and powerful experience for me. I had gone into the birth having done lots of work on my fears around birth, and I was so proud of how my body and baby worked together during the birth.

4.      What is the most important thing you have learnt about yourself in your life’s journey?

I’ve learnt that I can often be too hard on myself and reflect on hindsight with too much self-pressure, so I’m always learning and re-learning how to be kinder to myself, as this really allows me to continue flowing with the current of my life, and increases my joy.

5.      Who are you currently learning the most from?

A longtime mentor and friend, Samantha Nolan-Smith. I’m a student of her Women Speaking Up mentorship program and I’m constantly learning from her, about ways to continue increasing my capacity and ability to be seen, to expand, and to rise, with more ease.

6.      What is your best life tip for others?

Focus on your own path and your next best steps (without thinking there’s one, perfect way forward).

7.      How do you deal with negative energy?

I take lots of deep breaths! I might do an energy balance on myself, go for a walk, talk to someone I love and trust, or do some journalling to release some energy and gain a clearer perspective.

8.      What is one thing you like to do every day that cultivates peace and happiness?

As a working mum, I like to make just a few minutes for myself each day, even if it’s not long, to just have some time for me. It might be a five minute meditation, or a quick walk around the block, but I find it really helps me reconnect with myself.

9.      How can we make a difference in the world?

By being ourselves, radiating love and generosity and sharing our gifts with the world.

10.  Outline a perfect morning routine for us

I don’t really have a morning routine, apart from grabbing a coffee at some stage between preschool drop-off and starting work, or on our way to the park if I’m with my daughter. I think the best morning routine is one that suits your season of life, so I’m just rolling with where I am right now.
